Aberdeenshire is a part of Scotland that may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking about the perfect Scottish holiday. For seaside there is a beautiful string of coastal villages along the Moray Firth such as Portknuckle. Built as a herring fishing village on a beautiful coast line with crashing waves and jagged rocks. A little way in land Green Castle has 3000 years of history to explore. Or if you like a walk to take into the scenery walk from Portknuckie past the Bow Fiddle Rock and the fabulously named Whale’s Moo. The walk is three miles but well worth the effort.
