The first of the five-stars to pop up on the island, this luxury hotel oozes luxury and old school glamour thanks to exotic furnishings, eclectic art and decadent decor sourced from all over the world. If it’s bohemian escapism you want, this is the ticket – not surprisingly, it’s a popular celebs’ choice when it comes to hiding from prying eyes. But you just can’t beat its location, perched on the edge of a cliff with the most breathtaking views in Ibiza – well worth the five-star price tag.

Ibiza is the most extreme of the islands, in landscape and visitors.

The Greeks called Ibiza and Formentera the Islas Pitiusas (Islands of Pine Trees). The landscape is harsh and rocky, and the island receives little rainfall. Alongside the hardy pines, the most common crops are olives, figs and almonds. Perhaps surprisingly, about half the island (especially the fairly unspoilt northeast) remains covered by thick woods. Indeed, driving around the back roads of the north is to plunge into a rural idyll – not what one associates with Ibiza at all!

One of the best parts about living in Europe is the ease and affordability of travel. Even those working full-time for minimal wages can budget in weekends in Berlin, Amsterdam, Prague and Paris. It obviously helps to have friends waiting for you on the other side who can provide comfort and accommodation, but either way these trips are doable.

The famous tapas bars are more preferred when tourists visit Spain when they are on a vacation. Tapas are served as an appetizer, entree, or as a snack in many bar to get your appetite going and as a great way to start a meal in restaurants.

The word “tapas” came from the Spanish word “de tapeo” which means eating while standing. Tapas are a kind of finger food that are eaten by hand and it is usually made of meat like ham and sausages placed on top of tomatoes and Spanish bread. There are many kinds of tapas and each of them possesses a unique taste depending on what kind of food they use.
