Maui Accommodations Amidst Perfect Weather Makes for Vacation Paradise Maui is one of the only places on earth where a traveler can find a snow-covered mountain peak and tropical beaches just a few miles apart. Because of the diverse topography, it can be a near downpour on one side of the island while the other side is dry.

In Kaanapali on the westernmost point of the island, guests can stretch out under the tropical sun on the island’s longest beach or embark on a whale-watching expedition, finishing out the day with a romantic dinner cruise into the sunset. Likewise, the east side of Maui is the perfect place for a helicopter or fixed-wing tour of the region’s blend of barren, volcanic landscape, mountains, lush rain forests, waterfalls and more.

Sport fishing enthusiasts will definitely want to head down to Lahaina – a mere five miles south of Kaanapali – to try their luck in reeling in a large game fish like mahi mahi or the spectacular marlin. Lahaina, “the jewel in the crown of Maui”, is an historic place. Inquisitive travelers can take a guided walking tour and learn about the island’s rich tradition and long history, from its original settlement by the ancient Polynesians to the scope of present day life. Boutiques and fantastic restaurants are ready when you’re done.

Maui is centrally located in the Hawaiian archipelago, making it the perfect jump-off spot for an aerial tour of Hawaii – the big island – to the east. It’s also just a quick trip across the channel to see Molokai or Lanai where a scuba diving adventure lets visitors immerse themselves in tropical waters filled with dolphins, tortoises and countless species of fish.
