Mention the words “Great Golf Courses” and automatically the first thing which quickly comes to mind is an image of the largest and the most successful of all golf course undertakings ever designed in the entire world – that of the Robert Trent Jones golf trail.

In the late 1980 s, two very major ideas were on the mind of Dr. David Bronner, CEO of the Retirement Systems of Alabama. One, how to successfully diversify the money in the state s pension fund; and two, how to improve the state of Alabama. He thought: The stronger the Retirement Systems of Alabama can make Alabama, the stronger the Retirement Systems will be. With that thought, and borrowing the theme from the movie Field of Dreams, he decided to build it and they will come not to a baseball diamond in a corn field, but a spectacular collection of public golf links throughout the state of Alabama.
