To the south, Key West has a Mardi Gras mood with Fantasy Festivals, Hemingway look-alike contests and the occasional threat to secede from the Union. It’s an island whose melting-pot character allows crusty natives to mingle (more or less peacefully) with eccentrics and escape artists who lovingly call this 4-mi sandbar “Paradise.” Although life elsewhere in the island chain isn’t quite as offbeat, it’s nearly as diverse.

Florida, with its mild climate and huge number of tourist attractions to suit all tastes is quite rightly regarded as one of the world’s premier tourist attractions. Whether your interests are cultural, environmental or just centered on adrenalin-rush experiences, you will find something in Florida to keep you occupied twenty-four hours a day. The most famous Florida attractions include Walt Disney World and Bush Gardens, all of which capitalize on Florida’s exceptionally fine climate and the American desire for more variety and greater excitement.

Those whose interests lie elsewhere will be glad to know that there is more to Florida than the movie studios and theme parks of Orlando – the State abounds with hills and forests, winding waterways and freshwater lakes, and thirteen thousand kilometers of coastline featuring endless beaches, inlets and islands.

For nearly 40 years Pier House Resort and Caribbean Spa has been a Key West icon reflecting the free-spirited attitude of our island. As the first true resort on the island, we continue to offer our guests the authentic experience that has made Key West a favorite destination for all generations. Our resort is located on a six acre compound at the corner of the Gulf of Mexico and Duval Street. Beautiful tropical gardens surround our pool in the center of the property and open directly onto the private beach that includes a discreet “top-optional” sunning area.
