The Rio Carnival
The Rio Carnival is a wild four-day celebration which takes place 40 days before Easter, in February, the hottest month in the Southern hemisphere, when summer is at its peak. It officially begins on Saturday and ends on Tuesday.Thenext day is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent, during which everyone has to abstain from all bodily pleasures.
