Golf de Morfontaine was born in 1913 when it was converted from a polo pitch into a 9 hole private golf course. In 1927 it became an 18 hole course and was opened to the Golf Club Association.
It’s a par 70, and is 5,895 metres long. There aren’t a guge number of fairway bunkers, but the challenge is found in the strategy required in approach shots. Trees and bunkers litter the greens really punishing players who pick the wrong club.
