Host to presidents, world leaders, and celebrities since 1930, the Omni Shoreham Hotel celebrated a milestone in 2005—75 years as a cultural, social, and political cornerstone of Washington, D.C.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt became the first president to hold an inaugural ball at the Shoreham, followed by every president since. And during the hotel’s first 50 years, the renowned Blue Room showcased some of the greatest stars in entertainment, from Judy Garland and Rudy Valle to Aretha Franklin, Bob Hope, Liza Minnelli, and Mark Russell.
