A dry storm may sound like a contradiction in terms. But that’s how snow falls in the Rocky Mountains of Park City, Utah—bone dry, feather light, waist deep. An average 355 inches of powder per year draws top skiers from all over the world.

Norwegian Olympic Gold Medalist Stein Eriksen, for one, makes his home in Park City. Eriksen came first for the powder, then stayed to help shape Deer Valley Resort into a vacation spot to match his European standard.
