Amasterful blend of art, architecture, and desert golf, The Phoenician rises at the base of fabled Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona. The resort boasts a veritable golf trifecta: three 9-hole courses playable in three 18-hole combinations, each of them named for the prevailing landscape (Canyon, Desert, and Oasis). Most golfers think the Desert-Oasis combination presents the greatest challenge, but each combo puts forward a unique test.

As the name might suggest, the Canyon Course rambles around arid arroyos, the greens and fairways hemmed in by rocky outcrops and saguaro cacti. Flowing across the flatlands, the Oasis Course flaunts more water and vegetation than the other two, including a fourth hole flanked by twin lakes. The Desert Course blends both landscapes—rock and water, cottonwoods and palms—into the most aesthetically pleasing of the three.

The resort’s 22,000-square-foot Centre for Well-Being provides a full range of health and beauty treatments, fitness activities, yoga, and meditation. Signature spa treatments such as Kachina Aromatherapy and Barefoot in the Lemongrass utilize plants and minerals indigenous to Arizona. Drawing on the cosmic energy of Camelback Mountain, the spa also dispenses alternative services like hypnotherapy, tarot readings, and astrology.

Meetings, conventions, and special events unfold within 64,000 square feet of elegant indoor space serviced by a highly trained meetings staff and featuring state-of-the-art technology.

As evening falls, diners gather at six restaurants, including the Five Diamond Award winner Mary Elaine’s. From the patio, the colors and textures of the American Southwest form a stunning backdrop for the world-class luxury of The Phoenician.
