Minnesota is a golfers’ dream, with every type of golf course you can imagine. The northwest region of Minnesota offers a mix of courses for the most avid golfer, but also for someone just learning their way around the course. Many courses also offer dining and drinks to put the final touch on your day.

The courses have tournaments for everyone, no matter your skill level. And you’ll love the at-the-lake views on the courses. The Pine to Palm Tournament at Detroit Country Club has been part of Minnesota’s resort tournament circuit for more than 70 years.

Just to the east, you’ll find Park Rapids–home to the headwaters of the Mississippi River and Itasca State Park. The area is filled with family resorts along lakes full of fish and fun. Home to several championship 18-hole courses, you can also find challenging nine-hole courses connected with family resorts. The area has great dining options when you are ready to put away the clubs for the day.

The town of Walker sits along the shoreline of famous Leech Lake. Known for its vibrant downtown and great fishing, Walker is also home to several golf courses. Try a round under crystal blue skies on some of the most naturally scenic courses in Minnesota. You’ll find the area has many other fun activities including music festivals, boating, fishing, casino entertainment, and biking on the Heartland and Paul Bunyan trails.

Thief River Falls boasts a course you won’t want to miss, on Highway 32 just north of town along the winding banks of the Thief River. This picturesque, par-72, 18-hole course features 6,336 yards of golf, with a course rating of 70.5 and a slope rating of 120. While waiting for a tee time, golfers can loosen up on the driving range, and sharpen their skills on the practice green.

Looking to golf the northernmost golf course in the lower 48 states? You’ll find it at the Northwest Angle, part of Lake of the Woods. Just south in Baudette, a challenging 18-hole course awaits you along the Rainy River. The course is a favorite for both U.S. and Canadian golf enthusiasts. This beautiful 18-hole, par-72 championship course will provide golfers of all skill levels and abilities with fair, enjoyable and exciting golf experiences. Be sure to check with resorts in the area that offer fishing/golf packages.
