North Carolina

Explore the long beaches and history The Outer Banks

Some of the most unusual and beautiful beaches on America’s Atlantic coast are in North Carolina’s Outer Banks, a string of skinny barrier islands that stretches 130 miles from the Virginia border to the southernmost point at Cape Lookout and Beaufort. With more than 600 shipwrecks here (and hence notoriety as ‘Graveyard of the Atlantic’), the Outer Banks evokes an illustrious seafaring past, but is also a great sporting playground.

Travel to Raleigh

Travel to Raleigh, where Old South and New South, down-home and upscale, are all in one. The city has agrarian roots in both farming and mining, but today Raleigh thrives on high-tech industries, government (it’s the state capital), education, service industries, research, and medicine. In addition to North Carolina State, there are six other universities and colleges in town.

Asheville, North Carolina

The trees are bare, the ground is cold, the last of the leaves are on the ground. Winter is fully settled in our mountain peaks. Asheville, NC has been a popular tourist destination for many different reasons but I can’t remember ever hearing about the beauty of winter. It should be mentioned more as winter is a great time to visit!

Golf The Carolina’s

Chasing the little white ball around in the Carolina’s has never been better. Golf courses are featured each year in tournament and public play. Both north and south, the game is played almost year around from Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head, to Hatteras Island and Grandfather Mountain. The diversity is wide and the golfing is close to constant.
